VERTICAL
DANCE

Let's fly!

Fascinated by the aesthetics and the special movement possibilities of vertical dance, Luma Loko explores the horizontal and vertical use of space.

Depending on the scope, be it on interesting external facades, building structures or in interiors, we create pieces with new and unusual variations of movement & dance in space & time.

Attached to ropes, we move along facades or seem to float weightlessly in space. In exchange with sound and light artists, Luma Loko explores and reinforces the created scenes into a tangible experience that moves between gravity and weightlessness as well as reality and fiction.

The dimension of the observer

The vertical dance conveys changed living spaces, moments of weightlessness and a lightness of being in the world to the observer. In their contemplation they find themselves in changing perceptions of space, as the performers use facades and walls as the basis for their movement - running, jumping and dancing. The unexpected use of gravity and surrounding space, as well as the expansion of the potential of human movement, expands the experience of the real

and opens they viewers eyes to new perspectives.

IOnly those who dream of flying
will ever grow wings

Offers

On the one hand, Luma Loko develops aerial events that deal with local, architectural or historical conditions. The resulting individual scenarios are thematically processed in advance and then implemented in a choreography.

Even productions from the repertoire that have already been performed will be resumed, but always adapted to the respective spatial conditions.
